If you’re looking for an exceptional Gundam Japan store where you can find everything from Gunpla and Gundam model kits to exclusive P-Bandai releases, THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE SENDAI is the place to be. Located on the 7th floor of the Sendai PARCO Main Building, this Gundam shop is a hidden gem in the Tohoku region—an area known for having fewer Gundam stores compared to Tokyo or Osaka. Despite its smaller size compared to THE GUNDAM BASE in Tokyo, the neatly organized aisles, spotless interior, and beautifully arranged Gundam figures make it a paradise for fans of Mobile Suit Gundam and related series.

A Clean, Compact, and Thrilling Gundam Experience

As soon as you step into THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE SENDAI, you’ll notice the bright and clean atmosphere. The store’s compact layout lets you see all the Gundam models at a glance, making it easy to locate your favorite Gunpla kits—whether you’re hunting for HG Gundam, RG Gundam, MG Barbatos, PG Exia, or even the prestigious MGEX Strike Freedom. Adorning the walls are the words “Fun to build GUNPLA,” perfectly capturing the excitement that Gunpla builders feel when assembling their favorite Gundam aerial, Zeta Gundam, or Turn A Gundam kits.

New and Limited-Edition Items

What makes this Gundam store especially appealing is its well-stocked inventory of brand-new releases, including popular series like Gundam Wing, Gundam 00, Gundam Seed, and Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans (also known as Tekketsu no Orphans). You’ll also find exclusive merchandise such as Gundam UC kits, the iconic Unicorn Gundam, Banshee, and Norn models—all displayed in pristine condition. Rare items tend to sell out fast, especially on weekends, so get there early if you’re aiming for high-demand collectibles like P Bandai Gundam, RG Sazabi, or RG Hi-Nu Gundam.

A Treasure Trove for Gundam Enthusiasts

Since THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE SENDAI is one of the few dedicated Gunpla stores in Tohoku, it’s a must-visit destination for die-hard Gundam fans. You can explore kits spanning the entire franchise, including G Gundam, Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, Gundam SEED Destiny, Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury, and more. Beyond standard plastic model kits, the shop often carries Gundam Universe action figures, Metal Build Gundam collectibles, Bandai Hobby tools like the Gundam Marker, and even fun crossovers like Hello Kitty Gundam.

Why You Should Visit

Whether you’re a long-time fan who grew up with the original First Gundam, a newcomer captivated by newer series like Gundam Aerial or Barbatos, or simply someone looking for unique Gundam toys, THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE SENDAI has something to pique your interest. Its prime location inside Sendai PARCO—just steps from Sendai Station—makes it an easy and convenient stop on your trip. If you’re planning a visit to northeastern Japan, don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this carefully curated world of Gunpla, Gundam figures, and special-edition collectibles.

Experience the thrill of building and collecting your favorite Mobile Suits at THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE SENDAI—a must-see destination for any Gundam enthusiast traveling through Sendai.

THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE SENDAI is located near Sendai Station, which is about a two-hour ride from Tokyo via the Tohoku Shinkansen. The store itself is on the seventh floor of the PARCO building, only about a one-minute walk from Sendai Station. Riding the escalator up to the seventh floor, you’ll be greeted by a life-sized mobile suit right in front of you, and a breathtaking display of countless Gundam models that will make your heart race.
Because THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE SENDAI is the only official Gundam shop in the Tohoku region, it’s extremely popular. On weekends, the crowds can grow so large that admission restrictions are imposed. In some cases, you may need a numbered ticket to enter, and it can take two to three hours just to get in. If you’re on the hunt for newly released Gundam merchandise, visiting on the launch day and waiting in line should allow you to purchase the latest items.

Gundam Factory Yokohama is an attraction facility located in Yamashita Pier, overlooking Yokohama Port, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of "Mobile Suit Gundam." It features a moving, life-size 18-meter RX-78F00 Gundam. Admission fees are required for entry, and same-day tickets are sold at the entrance. The facility also includes an official Gundam merchandise store, although the store's scale is small. The facility itself is named "Gundam Activation Test Factory" and conducts a live demonstration of the full-scale moving Gundam as an attraction once every hour. The operational test is incredibly impressive. Any Gundam fan would be excited to witness this operational test. Additionally, by making a reservation in advance, visitors can ascend to the maintenance deck at the same height as the 18-meter moving Gundam (for a fee). Watching the activation test of the Gundam from a height of 20 meters above the ground will surely be a moving experience.

The official merchandise store sells Gundam plastic models and merchandise collaborated with local companies in Yokohama. In terms of assortment, the Gundam models at Gundam Base in Tokyo offer a better selection than Gundam Factory Yokohama. It is recommended to recognize Gundam Factory as a place to visit for its impressive activation tests. The activation test I witnessed was impactful, and I felt fortunate to have come to this place.

Gundam Factory Yokohama is quite a distance away from the Minatomirai Line station, and you will need to walk a considerable distance. Once you exit the station, head towards the direction of the sea, and you will start seeing the large Gundam in the distance. Simply walk towards it. When returning from the facility, it is convenient to use the bus bound for Yokohama Station, which departs near the entrance.

If you just want to enter Gundam Factory, you can simply buy an admission ticket at the entrance on the day. However, if you want to experience the "Gundam Dock," where you can see the life-size Gundam up close during its activation experiment, advance reservation is necessary. You can make a reservation in advance through the Gundam Factory Yokohama website, but please note that the explanatory page may be in Japanese only and could be difficult to understand. Nevertheless, even if you don't enter the Gundam Dock, you can still see the Gundam's activation experiment and enjoy it to the fullest.
