There are several large stores in Tokyo, and among them, the Ikebukuro main store is one of the largest of its kind in Japan, always crowded with anime fans due to its extensive range of anime and manga goods. Each floor of the store sells software and merchandise related to manga, anime, and games. Furthermore, some stores host events featuring voice actors and anime song singers. To participate in these events, it's necessary to reserve or purchase related products and obtain a participation ticket. Among anime shops in Japan, Animate is notable for offering a wide range of products geared towards women, with most of its doujinshi (fan-made publications) and doujin software being targeted at a female audience. The Ikebukuro main store, in particular, sees a high number of female customers, and it's common to observe that a majority of the floors are occupied by female patrons.


Animate Akihabara is a specialty store for anime, comics, and games. It's one of the most famous anime merchandise shops in Akihabara, bustling with many fans every day. The store spans eight floors, from Basement Level 1 to the 7th Floor. Basement Level 1 is dedicated to audio, visual, and games, while Floors 1 through 6 offer merchandise of trending anime works and popular character goods. The store is crammed with character goods from popular Weekly Shonen Jump series, including ONE PIECE, My Hero Academia, Haikyu!!, Jujutsu Kaisen, SPY×FAMILY, and NARUTO.

Animate Shinjuku is located on the 7th floor of a building about a 15-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station. The store is vibrant and frequented by many young Japanese female anime fans. It can be considered the epicenter of Japanese anime, and the store is always crowded, with its floors filled with young women in their teens to twenties. Animate Shibuya is an anime specialty store located in Shibuya. Similar to other Animate stores, it offers a wide range of official merchandise from series featured in Weekly Shonen Jump. They have a diverse selection of merchandise from popular anime such as One Piece, NARUTO, Jujutsu Kaisen, Haikyuu!!, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball, and more. Animate Kichijoji is an anime specialty store popular among young people, located in the trendy town of Kichijoji. It's a 30-minute train ride from Tokyo Station and 20 minutes from Shinjuku. The store is not too crowded, making it easy to browse anime merchandise. Like other Animate stores, it sells official goods from famous anime series such as One Piece, NARUTO, Attack on Titan, Haikyuu!!, My Hero Academia, and Chainsaw Man.

ANIMATE YOKOHAMA VIVRE is located within a commercial facility a 5-minute walk from Yokohama Station. It is the largest anime shop in Kanagawa Prefecture, offering a wide range of official character goods, manga, and doujinshi. Its selection includes popular character goods such as those from One Piece, Naruto, Haikyuu!!, Jujutsu Kaisen, Tokyo Revengers, Oshi no Ko, and others, similar to other Animate stores.

Animate Kawasaki is located inside the commercial building Muza Kawasaki, about a 5-minute walk from the west exit of JR Kawasaki Station. To get to Muza Kawasaki, you can follow the pedestrian bridge from Kawasaki Station, which leads directly there. This Animate is one of the few stores in Kanagawa Prefecture that deals with anime goods, with its customer base primarily consisting of local youths, especially female students.

ANIMATE KAMATA is a relatively small store located in the southern part of Tokyo, among Animate branches. Due to its size, its selection is not as extensive as other stores'. The service provided by Japanese staff is very polite. The store carries a variety of official merchandise from popular series featured in Weekly Shonen Jump, such as One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Haikyuu!!, and Demon Slayer. However, due to the limited space, there are fewer niche doujinshi available.
